Pictures have surfaced one of the many incidents in Egypt during the protests in which Christians surrounded their Muslim brothers and sisters during the final evening prayer. Hoping to see the images of the Muslims helping the Christians defend their cathedrals soon as well.
This is what fear mongering Psychopaths like Glenn Beck are afraid of. People realizing that the only real enemy they have are the people that divide them. Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, Sean Hannity and others who have made a living pitting one group against the other want us all to be afraid of “terrorists” and the “Muslim brotherhood”, rather than our Foreign policy that creates them.
Americans should be frightened that the Patriot act exists, that GITMO is still operational, and that Americans can be held indefinitely without charge. We should be scared that we allowed our Government to have over 700 bases in over 100 countries world-wide, that we have propped up dictators like Musharraf in Pakistan, or Mubarak in Egypt. Even Saddam Hussein was one of our greatest allies in the mid east before we killed him. We even sold him deadly chemical weapons that he later used on his own people. This is why extremism is born, this is why there is always so much hatred directed at the United States.
If fear is one of the greatest motivators for change then fear our Foreign Policy enough to change it.
