I decided to start home-brewing recently. Brewing your own beer is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, I finally took the plunge last night. I brewed a 5 gallon batch of IPA and made the entire house smell like a brewery! I can’t speak for my wife, but I loved almost every minute of it.
I followed the recipe, sterilized everything, and did exactly what I think I was supposed to do. I now have 5 gallons of unfermented beer sitting in a Carboy. The yeast was added as instructed but I haven’t seen any activity yet. I’ve been told that liquid yeasts can take a little longer to go ballistic in there, so I’ll wait a little longer before I panic. I’m sure it’ll be fine.
If there is a problem with it (god forbid, dunno what could have gone wrong) I’ll post it here. If not, I’ll post a picture of me drinking my first home brew! I’m so excited about this!
